Whether you’re online or offline, getting from “hi” to mutually wanting to continue the relationship can sometimes be a challenge. One of the best ways to kick-start the process is also very simple: just show your gratitude.
When another bro helps you or gives you useful information, saying “thank you” signals to him that you’re not only polite, but friendly and kind, too. Of course, you have to be careful about your delivery. Don’t go so far overboard that it sounds like you’re sucking up. At the other extreme, don’t just mumble “thank you” to the dude when he’s in the same room, but you’re looking at your cell phone. The goal is to show him that you care.
