Special Tips for Gay seekBromance Members

Hey bros,

As you know, seekBromance.com is proud to be open to men of all sexual preferences, and we have been ever since the beginning.

Even so, trying to find a close, nonsexual relationship with another dude has some additional pitfalls when one or both of you are gay. So I’ve put together this list of stuff to keep in mind while you’re looking.

Be yourself, and be out to your close friend. Let’s face it. The whole point of having close friends is so that you can be candid with each other and therefore feel totally comfortable when you’re together.  You don’t have to be out to your family, to your church, or even in your brofile. But a close friend deserves to know.

If you have ‘expectations,’ lose them. This one applies regardless of your own sexuality. Don’t be afraid to start a conversation and set up a meeting with a bro who’s openly gay just because you think he’s going to want to have sex with you. In fact, the odds are very high that he won’t. Maybe he already has a man, or maybe he’s taking a break from romantic relationships. Besides, if he actually were looking for a genuine date or a hookup, there are already plenty of apps and sites he could use. There would be no need to waste time with guys who just want platonic friendships.

Remember, where a guy puts his junk has nothing to do with what kind of man he is when it comes to all the other areas of life.

There is no such thing as a bromance with benefits. Bromances are nonsexual by definition. When someone uses this phrase, they’re actually talking about either a gay romance or a series of hookups with the same guy. People love to ask whether a bromance can become a romance, but that’s also a different scenario. If both guys are gay or bisexual, it could theoretically happen, but it won’t be able to stay healthy unless both guys recognize it for what it is.

Being gay should never stop you from finding a true bro. Just keep talking to other guys, and be a friend to them whenever you have the opportunity.

Happy bromancing!

Later,
